A little bit about me -
Since December 2018, I have worked as a design assistant at Seasalt Cornwall, a commercial Womenswear fashion brand – my role includes supporting the Jersey Womenswear team in the creation of clothing collections. I help with research into future trends and collating moodboards. Alongside this I work with the Adobe suite including Illustrator and Photoshop to create front, back and further detail sketches of garment designs. I use PLM systems to input these designs and organise garments, fabrics, branding and pattern management. I attend fit meetings where I work alongside garment technologists and Buyers to create successful product. A key part of my job is adhering strictly to our product calendar, requesting and approving fabric qualities, lab dips for colour and communicating with suppliers through email and meetings.
I previously studied at Nottingham Trent University graduating in June 2018, specialised in embroidered textiles with a keen interest in how I can combine fabrics and processes together. Throughout my university life I became interested in the sustainability of fabrics and how as a designer I can raise awareness and create designs that use innovative materials and processes.
